History

Template:Canon Reddschift specialized in the study of energy acceleration and developed crystallic rods, a potentially unlimited power source. This led to him being kidnapped by Zurg, and forced to share his knowledge. He managed to escape to a ruined city on Planet Z and sent a distress signal to Star Command, so Team Lightyear were dispatched to rescue him.

While Buzz stayed behind to prepare, Mira, Booster and XR were tasked with protecting Reddschift from Zurg's endless robots.

Trivia

• Reddschift's name possibly comes from redshift, the phenomenon in which an object's electromagnetic wavelength appears longer, or redder, when the object is moving away.
