“Ah, please, sit down. We'll explore this unresolved envy.”
—{{{2}}}
Dr. Animus is the galaxy's therapist, counselor and psychiatrist (though probably not the only one around). He talks with a heavy accent and takes his work very seriously. If anyone in the galaxy has a problem they can't seem to figure out or feel like they're falling into a black hole with no return, Dr. Animus is the one to call. He appears in a total of two episodes and was voiced by the late Tony Jay.

History
First introduced into episodes such as Stress Test and Head Case, Dr. Animus is often times evaluating members of Team Lightyear. He once examined Buzz when he was overstressed, and he also examined XL who had been criminally pretending to be XR so he could blow up Star Command. Beyond that, Dr. Animus has yet to be seen in another light.
Personality
Dr. Animus is a skinny, green-skinned alien with an orange brow and mustache. He wears thick glasses, a comfy sweater, and has an office for his work and patients. His accent is remarkably thick and reminiscent of German; a stereotype of Freudian psychologists. He comes off as very relaxed and calm, rarely using force unless necessary for the health of the patient. He's not particularly strong, nor does he appear to be a fighter.
Dr. Animus is from an unknown specie of alien and is the only one seen of his kind in the series.

Trivia
- Dr. Animus' name is a possible reference to the masculine traits found in the feminine unconscious and personality in Jungian psychology.[1]
