Evan Zarl[a] is a member of an unnamed species, and works as a bounty hunter.
Physical description
Evan Zarl is a humanoid alien with light purple skin and blue hair.
History
Evan Zarl is one of the many patrons of The Black Hole on Trade World. When Team Lightyear were there to arrest Torque, Zarl used the opportunity to try taking Buzz Lightyear down, but was thwarted by Mira Nova when she took away his weapon.[1]. That would not be the last time he took a crack at Buzz, though. He found another opportunity when Buzz was accused of trying to assassinate the President of the Galactic Alliance and on the run. Having paid Crumford Lorak a hefty sum to lead Buzz straight to him and other fellow thugs, he was delighted at the prospect that Buzz would "rot away" on some penal colony for his crimes. However, Buzz ultimately escaped their clutches.[2]
Zarl was also one of many bounty hunters that went after Booster to gain the 10 million uni-bucks reward placed on his head by Keno Kentrix. He disguised himself as a bellhop at the hotel Booster was staying at, but XR stopped him before he could take Booster down in the lobby. Even so, he continued his pursuit of Booster, though he and other rival bounty hunters were constantly thwarted by XR. After a long and perilous chase, Zarl and the other hunters had their quarry cornered until Buzz and Mira came to aid their fellow Space Rangers, and he was arrested following the fight.[3]
Trivia
- In "Lost in Time," Evan Zarl appears in the fabricated future Zurg presents to Buzz, where he is apparently a reformed citizen. Whether this is a fake version of him or whether Zurg actually made use of Zarl's services for it remains unclear.[4]
